A large, black Orthodox-style crucifix stands prominently in a field in Kalipetrovo, Bulgaria, under an overcast sky. The crucifix features a flat, stylized depiction of Jesus Christ with a golden halo, wearing a white loincloth. Inscriptions on the cross include "I.N.R.I." at the top, "IC" on the upper vertical beam to the left of Christ's head, "XC" on the lower vertical beam below Christ's feet, and "NI" and "KA" on the horizontal beam to the left and right of Christ's outstretched arms, respectively.
