The upper portion of the frame is dominated by a pale blue sky featuring scattered stratocumulus clouds with subtle pink and grey hues. Along the distant horizon to the left, a dark, verdant mountain range, consistent with the Illawarra Escarpment, is visible, at the base of which a portion of the Austinmer township with discernible structures is situated. The mid-ground consists of the Tasman Sea, exhibiting moderate wave action with visible whitecaps breaking towards the shore over a submerged rock shelf. The immediate foreground is an exposed, dark rocky intertidal platform, extensively covered in matted brown and dark green marine flora, primarily seaweed and algae.
