This image captures Wat Phra Yai, also known as the Big Buddha Temple, in Baan Plai Laem, Koh Samui, Thailand, under a clear blue sky. A colossal golden Buddha statue, depicted in a seated meditative posture with its right hand touching the earth (bhumisparsha mudra), is centrally positioned atop a multi-tiered elevated platform. Behind the Buddha's head, a large golden Dharmachakra (Dharma Wheel) is prominently displayed, flanked by two golden Naga serpents whose heads rise from behind the statue's shoulders. A broad, multi-level stone staircase, composed of numerous steps, leads directly up to the base of the Buddha statue. The railings flanking the main ascent of the stairs are intricately sculpted as multi-headed Nagas, adorned with green, red, and yellow scales. Two individuals are observed ascending the stairs; one person in a white shirt and light-colored pants is approximately halfway up, while another is visible further towards the top. At the base of the staircase, a smaller, dark-colored seated Buddha statue rests beneath a blue parasol. Adjacent to it, a golden fabric-draped stand holds a floral arrangement. To the left of the main stairs, two smaller golden seated Buddha statues are elevated on decorated platforms. A "Donation Box" sign on a stand is also visible at the lower landing. Two traditional Thai temple buildings flank the central staircase and the elevated Buddha platform. These structures feature distinctive multi-tiered red-tiled roofs with white trim and intricate golden gables and ornamentation. Green foliage from a tree is visible on the left side of the frame, partially obscuring the left temple building. The entire scene is well-lit by natural sunlight.
