A large, illuminated lantern display depicting the Chinese God of Wealth, Caishen, stands prominently outdoors at night in the city of Coronel Gregorio Albarracín Lanchipa, Peru
A large, illuminated lantern display depicting the Chinese God of Wealth, Caishen, stands prominently outdoors at night in the city of Coronel Gregorio Albarracín Lanchipa, Peru. The central figure, Caishen, is rendered in white, red, yellow, and orange, featuring a smiling face with a black mustache and beard. He wears traditional robes, a wide belt, and an elaborate headpiece adorned with multiple red spherical lanterns and green and yellow detailing. Caishen's proper right hand grasps a red scroll displaying the visible Chinese characters "财神到" (Cái shén dào - God of Wealth arrives). His proper left hand holds a large, upward-facing, illuminated golden sycee-shaped lantern. The Caishen figure is positioned on top of a substantial, rectangular, illuminated base. This base features a reddish-orange lower section and a darker brown upper section, both adorned with stylized teal, gold, and orange ornamental patterns along its front surface. Five smaller, illuminated golden sycee-shaped lanterns are arranged in a horizontal row on the upper surface of the base, positioned directly in front of the Caishen figure. The immediate ground surface visible beneath the base is textured and dark. In the blurred background, various artificial lights are visible, including a brightly illuminated purple tree on the right side of the frame and other festive structures, indicating a public display or event.
