This image, taken in Vila Real, Portugal, depicts a mountainous landscape at either sunrise or sunset. The sun is a bright, diffused orb located in the upper-left quadrant, producing a lens flare effect and illuminating parts of the sky. The sky features horizontal bands of clouds, with some illuminated and others appearing darker. Faint contrails are visible in the upper-mid-left. Multiple layers of mountains, appearing in progressively darker shades of blue-grey due to atmospheric perspective, recede into the distance. Along the ridge of the farthest visible mountain range, a line of approximately ten or more wind turbines is present, silhouetted against the lighter sky. The foreground consists of dense, dark vegetation, primarily trees and shrubs, which are heavily shadowed. Partially visible in the lower right, behind the foreground foliage, is a building with a reddish-brown tiled roof, also largely obscured by shadow. A distinct green circular lens flare is present in the lower right over the dark vegetation. No individuals are visible.
