The scene, set in Khe Sanh Commune, Vietnam, depicts a close-up view of dense foliage. The prominent subjects are several plants with large, textured leaves, appearing wet. Some leaves are uniformly deep maroon and dark purple, while others exhibit striking variegation with patterns of bright yellow-green, cream, and reddish-purple. Below these, numerous smaller, heart-shaped green leaves are visible, trailing along a rough-textured, light-colored concrete or stone ledge that runs horizontally across the lower third of the frame.
