In the foreground and midground, a dense cluster of mature sage plants (Salvia officinalis) with silvery-green, ovate leaves and visible stems occupies the majority of the frame. To the left, a light-colored, possibly white, vertical surface reflects a bright, circular light source, casting faint shadows of slender plant tendrils. To the right and center, a terracotta-colored wall forms the background, upon which prominent, dark shadows of the sage plants and intricate climbing vines are cast. Above the sage plants, against the terracotta wall, a window with horizontal elements or panes is partially visible and obscured by additional climbing vegetation.
