The scene depicts a lush, tropical valley in Tegal Suci, Indonesia, characterized by dense vegetation and terraced rice paddies under an overcast sky. In the foreground, a traditional Balinese-style structure with a thatched roof and light-colored stone base stands partly over a dark, still body of water. Black and white checkered fabric (poleng) is draped around its lower portion, and a poleng umbrella is next to it.
