This ancient fresco, located in Mtskheta, Georgia, is divided into distinct horizontal registers, showcasing significant age, fading, and damage.

The uppermost section depicts a vibrant, fantastical realm often interpreted as the 'sea of life' or a cosmic struggle. Numerous mythological creatures dominate the scene, including dragons, winged beasts, multi-headed hydras, sphinx-like figures, and various serpents. Alongside these mythical beings are more recognizable marine creatures such as large squid, octopuses, and fish, as well as merfolk or sirens. Two sailing ships with white sails navigate these turbulent waters, surrounded by the diverse bestiary. The colors in this register are predominantly blues, grays, earthy browns, and reds.

A prominent band of stylized mountains or hills, rendered in shades of golden-brown and adorned with floral motifs in blue, red, and black, serves as a horizontal separator.

Below this mountainous band, a faded inscription in what appears to be Georgian script is visible, spanning the length of the fresco.

The lower main register portrays a gathering of human figures, possibly soldiers, saints, or religious figures, standing near architectural structures that resemble churches or other buildings. Many figures are depicted with halos, indicating a religious context. Several individuals hold swords, suggesting a procession, a battle, or a symbolic defense of faith. The figures are characterized by elongated forms and a stylized representation, typical of early Christian or Byzantine art. The colors in this section are largely muted, featuring shades of blue, gray, beige, and faded red due to the fresco's age and wear.

The very bottom of the fresco is bordered by a decorative band featuring intricate floral and scroll patterns, also showing signs of decay and pigment loss. The entire mural presents a rich narrative, combining mythical elements with religious or historical themes.
