The dark, rigid stem of the plant extends downwards into the ground. The surrounding terrain is uniformly covered by a moderate layer of white snow. Visible through and beneath the snow are individual blades of green grass and scattered dark, slender twigs and branches. No human or animal subjects are present. The lighting is diffuse, indicating an overcast sky, with an absence of strong shadows.
