This is a photograph taken from a low angle, looking upwards at the vaulted ceiling of a metro station. The station is located in Kyiv, Ukraine. The ceiling is painted white and shows some signs of wear and cracking, with a prominent crack running down the center. Two large, ornate brass chandeliers hang from the ceiling, illuminating the space. The chandeliers are multi-tiered, with numerous light bulbs. There are also square air vents visible on the ceiling. Along the sides of the station, visible in the lower portion of the image, are arched passageways and what appear to be advertisements or informational displays. The overall impression is of a grand, yet somewhat aged, public space.
