The image depicts a winter scene in Nusfjord, Norway, specifically within a narrow inlet or harbor flanked by steep, snow-dusted mountains under a clear, pale blue sky. The upper portions of the rugged, reddish-brown rock faces on the right are illuminated by low-angle sunlight, casting warm tones. The calm, dark water of the inlet reflects the surrounding landscape and structures. In the foreground and extending along the right side is a snow-covered wooden boardwalk with visible parallel planks. To its left, a dark wooden pier with black bumper tires supports several traditional yellow wooden rorbu buildings with dark roofs, reflecting in the water. Further into the inlet, another cluster of similar yellow buildings is visible on the left waterfront, also supported by a pier. A small, snow-dusted floating dock is positioned in the center of the inlet. Four individuals, clad in winter attire, are standing or walking on the boardwalk towards the center-right of the frame, near the yellow buildings on the right side. One individual wears a prominent white jacket. Red mooring buoys are present in the water near the pier on the left. A red life preserver is affixed to the exterior of the building closest to the camera on the right.
