The text describes "kalimera" fishing, a traditional skill and method in Port Milena and along the Bojana River in Ulcinj. It's preserved in its traditional form, also practiced on Zogajsko and Šasko lakes. Kalimere, traditional fishing structures, have been present for a long time in Bojana and since 1885 in Port Milena. Initially made of wood, they now incorporate metal. Fishing was done manually, then aided by a mechanism to lower and raise the nets, and nowadays use electric motors. The basic part of the kalimera is a long wooden lever with a net attached at one end and a stone counterweight at the other.
