An eye-level, upside-down photograph captures a portion of the Western High-Speed Diameter highway in Sestroretsk, Russia. Predominantly, the lower portion of the elevated highway is visible against a backdrop of a clear blue sky. The road surface below the highway is composed of a reddish-brown aggregate, typical of unpaved shoulders. Adjacent to it lies a standard asphalt highway lane, delineated by a white stripe. A metal guardrail runs parallel to the lane. Above, the underside of the highway reveals its structural supports and drainage systems. White, curved extensions are attached to the underside of the highway. Some vegetation is present along the highway embankment. An orange traffic cone is seen in the lower right portion of the shot. There is reflection visible in the left portion of the photograph.
