A dense growth of mature prickly pear cactus (Opuntia ficus-indica) fills the frame, located in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. Numerous green, paddle-shaped cladodes form a thick, sprawling bush. The cladodes are covered in clusters of small, developing purple-red fruits, known as tunas or prickly pears, in various stages of ripeness. Some small, bright yellow flowers are also visible among the cladodes. The vegetation appears healthy under natural sunlight. In the upper portion of the image, glimpses of a clear blue sky and thin stalks of other dry, sparse vegetation are discernible. No human subjects, animals, or man-made objects are present.
