Two framed oil paintings depicting hunting scenes are displayed vertically on a plain, light-colored wall within an interior setting in the Real Sitio de San Ildefonso, Spain. A gold decorative molding runs horizontally along the wall below the lower painting. The lower, larger painting features a gathering of dogs and dead game against a dark, wooded landscape with a lighter sky. From left to right in the foreground are the head of a dark wild boar with visible tusks, a pile of dead game including at least two rabbits or hares, a large white and black spotted dog sitting prominently, a lean white and dark-colored dog standing, a smaller white and brown-spotted dog lying down, and a small, light-colored dog sitting behind the reclining dog. A number "27" is marked on the bottom-left of the canvas. The upper, smaller painting, also set in a dark, wooded landscape, shows a lighter-colored animal, possibly a deer or fox, in motion on the left, and several indistinct, darker forms resembling dead game or recumbent animals on the right. A faint inscription, possibly "J.P.", is barely visible on the bottom-left of its canvas. Both paintings are encased in similarly ornate, gilded frames. The room's lighting is subdued.
