A close-up photograph taken in Nakhonay, Afghanistan, depicts the entrance of a weathered beehive. Multiple honeybees (Apis mellifera) are visible at and within a narrow, horizontal opening at the base of the hive. One bee is prominently positioned at the center of the opening, facing the viewer, while at least two others are partially visible to its left and right, facing inwards. The upper section of the hive consists of aged, galvanized metal sheets, exhibiting rust, stains, and apparent water streaks, secured by visible fasteners. Beneath the metal section is a thick, worn wooden landing board, discolored and showing signs of peeling paint. Below the landing board, the ground consists of dry soil and small debris. The scene is illuminated by natural light.
