The image displays an archaeological excavation site in the city of Skutare, Bulgaria. A rectangular burial pit, approximately 1.8 meters long and 0.6 meters wide, is cut into light brown, dry, sandy soil. Within the pit, a human skeleton is exposed. The skeleton is largely articulated, oriented generally with the head towards the lower portion of the image and the feet towards the upper portion.
