An aviary in Mihalkovo, Bulgaria, is depicted containing multiple birds. A male peacock, characterized by its dark blue head and neck, patterned dark brown and green body, and long, iridescent green tail feathers with visible eye-spots, is perched on a substantial wooden beam in the upper left. Below the peacock, a large, gnarled wooden branch serves as a perch for several white and white-and-brown-marked pigeons. Additional white and patterned pigeons occupy built-in alcoves within the textured stone and plaster wall on the right side of the frame. Another all-white pigeon rests on a horizontal wooden plank attached to this wall. The wall itself is constructed with irregular, exposed stone blocks set into a white plastered surface. The enclosure's ceiling exposes heavy wooden beams. A metal mesh fence, partially draped with green netting, defines the left boundary of the aviary. Beyond this fence, a white building with an arched window, a black wall-mounted lantern, and a red-tiled roof is visible. The ground within the enclosure is covered with wood chips or similar organic bedding material.
