The image depicts a street scene in Juan Griego, Venezuela, bathed in the soft light of late afternoon or early morning. In the foreground, an asphalt road curves gently, bordered by a grassy median strip and a concrete curb. On the left side of the road, a low embankment covered in dry brush leads to a stand of trees. Dominating the middle ground are several buildings. A long, low-rise orange building with numerous dark-framed windows is prominent. Behind it and to the right, taller, multi-story buildings rise, one appearing to be under construction or in disrepair with visible concrete and rebar. One of these taller structures is a light brown tower with many windows and what appear to be air conditioning units attached. Streetlights with curved poles are visible on either side of the road. One on the left is tall and bare, while another on the right has a lit lamp. Power lines crisscross the sky in the upper right portion of the image. To the far right, a light green wall with some graffiti or discoloration forms the boundary of a property, with a dark-colored roof structure visible behind it. A tall, slender cactus stands near this wall. In the distance, mountains are faintly visible against a clear, pale blue sky. A few individuals are present in the scene; two are walking along the sidewalk near the taller buildings on the right. Scattered on the roadside near a lamppost are a few discarded items, including what appears to be a traffic cone and some plastic. The overall impression is of a semi-developed urban or suburban area.
