The image displays a section of a waterway, likely one of the canals or tributaries of the Amper River, within the city of Dachau, Germany, observed under bright daylight. In the immediate foreground, a concrete or stone bank slopes down to the water via wide, irregular steps. These steps exhibit minor structural imperfections and are sparsely covered with scattered autumnal leaves. A single mallard-type duck, characterized by mottled brown plumage, is situated on the lowest concrete step at the water's edge, oriented towards the right with its head lowered, possibly drinking or foraging. In the water, approximately five additional ducks are visible; one in the middle-right is partially submerged, appearing to dabble. Several dark, irregularly shaped rocks are present, some partially submerged in the shallow water, others at the water's edge. The far bank of the waterway is densely vegetated with green and yellowing foliage, including grasses and small shrubs. Behind this vegetation, a rough-hewn stone or concrete wall is partially visible. Bright sunlight illuminates the scene, casting shadows on the foreground steps and creating reflections of the sky and surrounding elements on the water's surface. No human individuals are present in the frame.
