The scene depicts a street-level commercial establishment in Ankpa, Nigeria, consisting of two adjacent structures. The primary shop, centrally located, features a cream-colored facade with a pyramidal, weathered corrugated metal roof and decorative cornice work. Its entrance is secured by a partially open white metal lattice gate, with a string of bare light bulbs strung horizontally across the opening. Inside, a red Coca-Cola refrigerator is visible, along with an individual in a brown head covering and patterned skirt bent over near stacks of merchandise. Numerous plastic crates and cartons of bottled and canned beverages, including water and soft drinks, are stacked outside and immediately inside the shop's threshold. Cardboard boxes, one marked "Tropes" and another "N150", are also present near the left side of the entrance. The floor leading into this shop is covered with a mosaic of patterned tiles. To the left of the main shop is a smaller, auxiliary structure with a flatter, simpler corrugated metal roof. Its walls appear to be constructed from rough wooden planks, and the interior is dark. A small, light-colored object, possibly a camera or light fixture, is mounted on the exterior wall of this structure. In front of this auxiliary building, a rough wooden table stands on a dirt ground. A drainage ditch or gully runs horizontally across the foreground. Two thick wooden planks span this gully, forming a makeshift bridge providing access from the unpaved dirt area on the far left towards the tiled entrance of the main shop. The sky overhead is bright and clear.
