An elevated view captures a scene of urban devastation in Khan Yunis, Palestinian Territory, under a sky with heavy cumulus clouds and patches of blue. In the background and midground, several multi-story apartment buildings, constructed of light brown/tan material with distinctive arched fenestration, exhibit extensive structural damage. Facades are pockmarked with numerous impact holes, windows are blown out, and large sections of lower floors and balconies are either missing or severely damaged, revealing interior spaces. Rooftops are visible with multiple water tanks and, on the far right, a communication tower. In the midground, between the damaged buildings and the foreground, a large, elevated mound of concrete rubble and twisted rebar dominates, indicating a destroyed structure. Adjacent to and in front of this rubble pile, a cluster of approximately fifteen to twenty makeshift tents and shelters, constructed from various colored tarpaulins (white, blue, brown, black) and salvaged materials, is spread across sandy ground. One larger, darker shelter made primarily of black plastic sheeting is visible in the lower foreground. The ground consists mainly of disturbed, sandy earth interspersed with scattered debris, rubble fragments, and sparse patches of weeds. In the lower right, a group of approximately five to six individuals, including adults and children, dressed in dark and light casual clothing, are walking on the sandy terrain. Another adult and child are partially visible in the lower left. A dark strap with a metal hook hangs from the top-left edge of the frame.
