The image displays a carved wooden Jangseung (Korean totem pole) standing prominently in the foreground within Hahoe Folk Village, Andong-si, South Korea. The Jangseung features a carved, smiling face and Korean script below, topped with a conical thatched straw cap densely covered in numerous white paper strips. Behind the Jangseung, several large, leafless deciduous trees with thick, dark trunks and branches extend upwards, filling a significant portion of the frame against a clear, pale blue sky. Multiple horizontal lines of white paper strips are strung between dark wooden posts, encircling the area around the trees and the Jangseung, forming a visible barrier. A dark wooden boardwalk occupies the immediate foreground, leading towards the Jangseung. To the left, behind a low stone wall with traditional tiled coping, three individuals are present. Two individuals, one in white trousers and a dark top, and another in a purple top, are positioned near the wall, seemingly engaged in photography with a mobile phone. A third person, wearing a red coat, walks further back along a similar wooden pathway. Beyond the stone wall, traditional Korean tiled rooftops are partially visible, with mountains rising in the distant background under a bright sky.
