The image depicts an active quarry operation located in Mai Mahiu ward, Kenya. The foreground on the left is dominated by a sheer, multi-layered rock face, approximately 30-40 meters high, exhibiting reddish-brown and dark grey strata, with vertical striations indicative of excavation. Dust plumes are faintly visible near the top of this rock face. The mid-ground and background reveal an extensive excavated area with light brown, disturbed earth crisscrossed by numerous vehicle tracks.
