A single gastropod mollusk shell, consistent with a Murex species, is centrally positioned on a polished wooden surface

LeudelangeLuxembourg

A single gastropod mollusk shell, consistent with a Murex species, is centrally positioned on a polished wooden surface. The shell exhibits a complex, spiny morphology, characterized by multiple rows of dark brown to black calcified protrusions along its whorls. The shell's primary coloration is off-white to cream, interrupted by irregular vertical bands of light brown. It rests on its side, with the spire pointing left, on a light-colored wooden surface displaying a fine, linear grain pattern. Multiple minute, light-colored particulate specks are scattered across the wooden surface, particularly visible in the out-of-focus background area. A subtle cast shadow is present beneath the shell, indicating illumination from an upper-frontal direction. No human figures, actions, or interactions are depicted within the frame.
