The Hall of Supreme Harmony (Taihe dian), also known as the Hall of Golden Chimes (Jinluan dian), was built in 1420 during the Ming Dynasty and renamed several times. It served as a venue for grand ceremonies in the Ming and Qing dynasties. The name, "Supreme harmony," is derived from the ancient divination text, Book of Changes. Measuring 26.92 meters high and 2,377 square meters, it stands on a three-layered marble terrace. Inside, a gold-lacquered throne with dragon designs is featured below a tablet inscribed by the Qianlong Emperor. Rebuilt several times, the current structure dates to 1695, the 34th year of the Kangxi Emperor's reign.
