The foreground and midground consist of a sloping terrain densely covered with a layer of fallen, dry leaves, primarily in shades of light brown and yellow. Several deciduous trees with textured, light grey-brown bark and branching structures rise from this leaf-covered ground. Their canopies, visible against a partially obscured sky, exhibit foliage in green and yellowish-green hues. Sparse green undergrowth or saplings are present near the bases of some trees and within the leaf litter. The extreme lower left edge of the image shows a darker area of exposed earth, possibly indicating the edge of a path or disturbed ground.
