The foreground consists of an exposed intertidal zone composed of dark grey-brown mud and scattered grey rock and concrete debris. A distinct, dark, winding stain, consistent with oil or discolored sediment, traverses the muddy area from left to right, pooling near the water's edge. A grey cylindrical object, possibly a pipe or hose, lies over the debris in the lower right, extending into the mud. The body of water is a calm, grey-green bay. Numerous limestone karsts rise from the water. A large karst formation, heavily vegetated with green foliage and featuring exposed grey rock faces, dominates the right side of the frame, extending directly from the water's edge.
