A large, detailed grey stone sculpture depicting the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ stands outdoors under an overcast sky. Jesus is centrally depicted on the cross, with "INRI" inscribed on a banner above his head. His emaciated body, draped with a loincloth, shows signs of suffering, with nails visible in his hands and feet. To the left of the cross stands the Virgin Mary, draped in robes, looking upwards with her left hand slightly extended. At the foot of the cross, Mary Magdalene kneels, head bowed, holding or embracing Jesus's feet. To the right of the cross, Saint John stands, also in robes, looking upwards with his hands clasped at chest level. The entire statuary group rests on a multi-tiered carved stone base. In the immediate left background, a tall, slender conifer tree with dense, dark green foliage rises almost to the top of the frame. The foreground consists of a light-colored paved surface around the sculpture's base, which transitions to a lighter, possibly grassy or unpaved area in the mid-ground to the right. In the distant background, a light-colored building with a prominent green-tiled roof is visible, adjacent to a red structure adorned with festive red and yellow decorations, including what appear to be flowering plants, characteristic of Lunar New Year (Tet) celebrations. A string of multi-colored triangular pennant flags (red, yellow, blue, green) is strung high across the pale, uniform sky. This scene is located on the grounds of the Redemptorist Church (Nhà thờ Dòng Chúa Cứu Thế) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
