The image displays a low-angle view of the Templo de San Francisco, situated at Avenida Francisco I
The image displays a low-angle view of the Templo de San Francisco, situated at Avenida Francisco I. Madero 7, Centro Histórico, Mexico City, Mexico. The scene is illuminated by direct sunlight under a clear blue sky, with a prominent sun flare in the upper right. The central subject is the church's ornate stone facade, primarily constructed from dark grey volcanic stone. A large arched entrance dominates the lower center, featuring dark, ornate wooden double doors that are partially open. Above the archway, the inscription "NON EST DOMUS DEI ET PORTA CAELI" is carved into the stone. The entrance is flanked by decorative pilasters and columns, supporting an entablature. Above this, two rectangular windows with dark frames are visible within the stone facade. Decorative recessed niches are present on the facade. To the left, a large stone buttress-like structure supports a section of the church wall, which is painted a contrasting yellow-ochre. A yellowish bell tower with a cupola is partially visible against the sky in the upper left. Several individuals are gathered at the base of the facade near the entrance, appearing to enter or exit; their faces are largely obscured or in shadow. Posters or notices are affixed to the wall on either side of the entrance doors. No specific interactions between the individuals are discernible.
