This image captures the interior of a pigeon loft located in Chernichevo, Bulgaria. The scene is illuminated by a single, exposed incandescent light bulb positioned centrally at the top of a large, multi-tiered wooden structure that serves as a pigeon coop. This structure features numerous individual nesting boxes or perches arranged in vertical columns and horizontal rows. Numerous domestic pigeons, estimated to be between 30 and 40 individuals, populate the coop. The pigeons exhibit various colorations, predominantly white, with several black and white pied individuals, and some grey or brownish birds. Most pigeons are stationary, either resting within their designated compartments, perched on the edges of the wooden tiers, or standing on top of the structure. Two pigeons are visible on the ground level, one standing near a rectangular wooden feed trough, and another further back. The floor of the loft is covered with a layer of bedding material, possibly wood shavings or straw. The feed trough, filled with a granular substance consistent with bird feed, is prominently positioned in the lower-central foreground. Dark, out-of-focus structures on the left and right edges frame the central coop, suggesting the internal walls or support beams of the larger loft space. No human subjects are visible. The environment indicates a controlled and organized facility for pigeon keeping, operating under artificial light.
