In Keyian ward, Kenya, a dark-skinned hand, with the thumb and index finger prominent, holds a moist, dark brown soil clod. The clod, approximately 7 cm in length, contains fine, pale root structures. A small, white, segmented larva, measuring approximately 1.5 cm, is visible protruding from the lower surface of the soil.
