The image displays the travertine stone facade of the Basilica di Sant'Agostino in Campo Marzio, Rome, Italy, viewed from a slightly low angle under an overcast, light gray sky. The Renaissance-style facade features a prominent central triangular pediment crowned with an iron cross, flanked by two smaller finials. Below the pediment, a large circular rose window with intricate geometric tracery is set into the stone.

The mid-section of the facade bears a horizontal Latin inscription: "GVILLERMVS. DE. ESTOUTEVILLA. EPIS. OSTIEN. CARD. ROTHOMAGEN. SRE. CAMERARI" (Guillaume d'Estouteville, Bishop of Ostia, Cardinal of Rouen, Chamberlain of the Holy Roman Church). Below this, the Roman numeral date "M. CCCC. LXX. III." (1473) is inscribed. Centrally located beneath the date is a rectangular fresco or painting depicting a group of religious figures. Two smaller circular windows (oculi) with dark grilles are positioned on either side of the lower facade.

The ground level features three dark, paneled wooden doors. The central, larger door is framed by an ornate stone architrave topped with a small triangular pediment, above which another inscription reads: "INDULGENTIA PLENARIA QUOTIDIANA PERPETVA PRO VIVIS ET DEFVNCTIS" (Plenary indulgence, daily, perpetual, for the living and the dead). Two smaller, simpler dark doors are positioned to the left and right of the main entrance. Small, dark green shrubs are visible at the base of the facade near the doors. No active human figures are present in the scene.
