This stone plaque describes Xieqiqu, the first European-style architecture completed in the autumn of 1751. The main building is a three-story structure with three rooms on the top floor and seven rooms on the first and second floors. It connects to two-story octagonal buildings and served as a venue for Chinese and Western music. South of the building was a large crab-apple-shaped fountain with water columns jetting from various sculptures. To the north was a chrysanthemum-shaped fountain. After the destruction of Yuanmingyuan, the fountain's European up-tailing stone fish were found at Beijing University, and the chrysanthemum fountain was found in the city. It was reinstalled in 1987.
