Their reflections are visible on the water's surface, which also reflects bare tree branches and a bright sky. In the midground, towards the left bank, a series of light grey concrete or stone steps descend into the water. A cluster of approximately eight to ten turtles are scattered across these steps and an adjacent flat concrete ledge at the water's edge, also engaged in basking. The bank above the steps is covered with dark green vegetation, possibly ivy, and bare soil with sparse, dry undergrowth and visible tree roots. No human subjects or their direct interactions are present.
