A full-body bronze statue of Matthias Corvinus, identified by the inscription "MATHIAS R

SuboticaSerbia

A full-body bronze statue of Matthias Corvinus, identified by the inscription "MATHIAS R. 1456 - 1490" on its dark granite plinth, is positioned outdoors in Subotica, Serbia. The male figure is depicted in full medieval armor, a flowing cape, and a crown, holding a long sword vertically with both hands. He possesses a stern facial expression, gazing slightly to his right. At the statue's base, two wreaths, one green and one brownish, are adorned with red, white, and green ribbons. The statue stands against a curved, light-beige wall, which features a scalloped dark green tiled coping along its top and two arched openings with decorative black metal grates on either side of the statue. A dark rectangular plaque with white text and a wall-mounted light fixture are visible on the wall to the left of the statue. Through and over the wall, bare tree branches and a white building facade are discernible. The ground around the statue is dark paving, possibly damp, with green leafy bushes in the lower right foreground.
