Burning wooden logs are visible within the hearth, producing flames on the left side. Additional unburnt logs are stacked horizontally on the ground in the lower-left foreground. The ground surrounding the hearth, and the stones themselves, are extensively covered in white and grey ash and charcoal remnants. In the upper right background, a dark, rectangular, possibly brick-like, sooted structure supports a portion of a larger, dark, cylindrical object (e.g., a pot).
