A large concrete monument, identified as being in Shumentsi, Bulgaria, is centered in the foreground of an outdoor scene under an overcast sky. The monument consists of a prominent eight-pointed star design, approximately 1.5 to 2 meters in diameter, elevated on a rectangular concrete base. The central medallion of the star features an embossed emblem with the year "1916" clearly visible, flanked by what appear to be depictions of stylized swords or daggers between some of the star's points. The concrete exhibits weathering and minor discoloration. Behind the primary star structure, additional lower-profile concrete elements form part of the monument. The ground surrounding the monument is a light brown, sandy or gravelly surface, sparsely covered with dry, fallen leaves. In the mid-ground and background, a dense line of tall, bare deciduous trees, indicative of winter, forms a natural barrier. A few evergreen trees are discernible on the right side of the background.
