The image depicts the architectural complex of Our Lady of the Rocks on an artificial island in the Bay of Kotor, near Perast, Montenegro. Dominating the scene are two stone structures: a church and an attached building, both constructed primarily of light grey, rough-hewn stone. The church features a prominent light grey stone facade with a large circular rose window positioned centrally above the main entrance. The entrance consists of a double wooden door in a deep teal color, set within a carved stone frame topped by a decorative pediment; two small potted evergreen plants are placed on either side of the entrance. To the right of the church rises a cylindrical stone bell tower, featuring an open belfry section and capped by an oxidized green dome topped with a cross finial. The roofs of both structures are covered with reddish-brown terracotta tiles. Attached to the left of the church is a two-story rectangular building, also of stone construction. Its facade includes several windows, some fitted with white decorative metal grilles. One upper-story window features closed dark brown wooden shutters. A metal downspout runs vertically along the left corner of this building. The foreground is a broad plaza paved with a patterned mosaic of alternating light grey and darker grey cobblestones arranged in a diagonal grid. Several dark wooden benches with metal frames are linearly arranged along the base of both buildings. On the far right of the plaza, a single individual dressed in dark clothing, including a jacket and a hat, stands facing away from the camera, looking towards the visible body of water in the background. The sky above is largely overcast, with a bright, indistinct orb of sunlight visible in the upper right quadrant. Distant landforms are faintly discernible on the horizon to the left.
