Behind these railings, two individuals are partially seen from the rear, in a seated or reclining position, facing towards the distant horizon. One individual has long dark hair and sunglasses are perched on their head. In the midground, a long pier extends into calm water. Docked along this pier are at least two large, multi-deck ferries. The ferry on the left side of the pier and another further to its right are both actively emitting dark plumes of exhaust smoke from their stacks. Tall light poles or structures are visible on the pier. The water surface is placid, reflecting the sky. The sky is extensively covered by diffuse clouds, displaying light amber and grey tones, indicative of either dawn or dusk. A faint, hazy landmass is visible on the far right horizon, and a small, indistinct object can be observed on the distant left horizon.
