The image displays the "Children's Memorial" in Irpin, Ukraine, dedicated to children killed during the Russian invasion. The central monument consists of three tall, rectangular vertical slabs of light gray granite, partially separated. A dark, inverted cubic or pyramidal structure rests atop the two left-most slabs. To the right of this structure stands a bronzed statue of a young boy, facing slightly left, with a somber expression. He is depicted wearing a traditional embroidered Ukrainian shirt (vyshyvanka) and trousers, holding his hands together at chest level. At the base of the boy's statue, on the granite platform, are memorial offerings: one taller blue candle in a glass holder, surrounded by several smaller candles in clear, red, and yellow glass jars. Arranged beside these are several pink and dark-colored flowers (appearing to be carnations), and a blue and yellow ribbon or string, symbolizing the Ukrainian flag. The monument is situated outdoors in a natural setting dominated by numerous tall, slender pine trees under a clear blue sky, casting long shadows. Patches of snow are visible on the ground. A paved walkway runs along the right side of the monument. In the mid-ground to the right, a simple wooden cross draped with a white fabric is visible, further indicating a memorial site.
