The image depicts a foggy coastal scene in Odesa, Ukraine, along the Black Sea shoreline
The image depicts a foggy coastal scene in Odesa, Ukraine, along the Black Sea shoreline. A dense fog bank extends from the mid-ground to the horizon, obscuring visibility, while the upper sky above the fog is clear and light blue. In the immediate foreground, a weathered concrete seawall runs horizontally, then turns sharply to extend along the left edge of the frame. This wall exhibits distinct shadow lines and surface textures. On the far left, partially enveloped by fog, is a multi-tiered concrete structure with railings, appearing to be a viewing platform or part of a coastal walkway that descends towards the water. A narrow, rocky and pebbly beach is visible between the base of the seawall and the water's edge. The dark, calm waters of the Black Sea stretch from the beach into the fog-shrouded distance. Several small, dark objects are scattered on the water's surface near the shore. Numerous seagulls are present. A large, grey and white seagull with prominent black wingtips and a white head is captured in mid-flight in the central foreground, wings fully extended. At least seven other seagulls are in various flight stages across the frame, some appearing sharper closer to the viewer, others more indistinct due to the fog and distance. Small, dark birds are visible perched on the beach and floating on the water's surface. No human figures are discernible within the scene.
