This image captures an excavated trench against a stone wall in Embu, Kenya. The scene is dominated by reddish-brown soil, which forms the banks of a roughly dug pit. A dry-stacked or mortared stone wall, composed of irregular brown and grey stones, serves as the rear boundary of the excavation. Within the trench, a black flexible pipe, approximately 1-2 inches in diameter, is visible. This pipe is equipped with two blue-capped fittings, possibly valves or connectors, in the central-right portion of the pit. The pipe extends deeper into a recess beneath the stone wall. The trench also contains accumulated debris, primarily consisting of dried, light-colored leaves and crumpled white plastic material, concentrated in the foreground and mid-ground of the excavation. A large mound of excavated soil is prominent on the left side of the frame, partially obscuring the trench's depth. Sparse green vegetation sprouts are visible on the soil surfaces. No individuals are present within the frame.
