A large avian specimen, likely a vulture or similar raptor, with dark brown to reddish-brown plumage, is depicted in an enclosure within Barza Municipality, Syria. The bird is perched on a substantial, cut tree trunk or thick branch, facing partially away from the camera with its head turned towards its right shoulder/chest area, suggesting preening or resting. Its feathers appear somewhat ruffled. The immediate background consists of a grey, mortared stone wall composed of large, irregularly shaped stones, displaying multiple vertical white streaks consistent with bird droppings (guano) or water runoff. Green foliage from various deciduous trees partially obscures the scene, with distinct branches and leaves visible above the bird and intertwined around the tree trunks. Two prominent tree trunks, rough-barked and devoid of leaves in their lower sections, rise vertically in the midground and foreground. The bird's perch is associated with the left-most visible tree trunk. A dark, possibly metallic, structural element is faintly visible at the very top of the frame, above the upper foliage, further indicating an enclosed environment.
