The image presents a detailed, vertical view of a tree trunk in Viseu, Portugal, approximately 0.7 to 1.5 meters in diameter, exhibiting evidence of latex tapping. A distinct V-shaped incision, roughly 30-40 cm wide at its upper extent, is carved into the dark brown inner bark of the trunk, positioned centrally within the frame. White, viscous latex is actively exuding from the apex of this V-cut and flowing downwards along the central channel formed by the incision. Immediately below the V-cut, a segment of dried, darker brown, fibrous material, approximately 10-15 cm in height and irregular in shape, is attached or protrudes from the trunk. The flowing latex drips onto this material, then continues to descend. A substantial accumulation of congealed white latex, forming an irregular, stalactite-like mass roughly 15-20 cm long, hangs vertically below the brown material. Fresh liquid latex is visible at the very tip of this congealed mass, indicating ongoing exude. The outer bark of the tree is mottled with grey, brown, and lighter patches, showing vertical striations and rough textures. The ground directly beneath and around the tree's base is covered with scattered dry leaves and sparse green undergrowth. The background, out of focus, consists of green foliage under diffuse natural light. No individuals, animals, or additional man-made objects are present in the scene.
