A concrete archway monument stands under an overcast sky in Shumentsi, Bulgaria. The structure comprises two thick, untextured grey concrete pillars supporting a horizontal lintel. The lintel's upper edge features an engraved decorative band of repeating oval motifs. Centered below this, on the front face of the lintel, is an inscription in Cyrillic: "ВСИЧКИ, ПАДНАЛИ ЗА СВОБОДАТА - ДЕТО И ДА Е, СА НАШИ БРАТЯ - ПАК ПО КРЪВ, НО САМО ЧЕ ПРОЛЯТА." This translates to: "ALL WHO FELL FOR FREEDOM - WHEREVER IT MAY BE, ARE OUR BROTHERS - AGAIN BY BLOOD, BUT ONLY THAT WHICH WAS SHED." On the inner vertical faces of the pillars within the archway, circular etched designs or emblems are visible, one on the left pillar appearing to contain numbers, possibly "19XX," within a wreath border. The ground leading to and through the archway is paved. The immediate approach features reddish-brown stamped concrete with a central grey tactile paving strip containing raised parallel ridges. Small circular metal fixtures are embedded in the reddish paving. Beyond the archway, the path continues with lighter grey square pavers, leading to a dark metal gate. Several individuals, dressed in dark outerwear, are visible beyond the gate, appearing to walk or gather. Low white walls and grey stone posts flank the path beyond the archway. The environment includes sparse green grass and a mix of bare deciduous and evergreen conifer trees under the grey, uniformly clouded sky.
