The scene depicts two Sandhill Cranes on the shore of a body of water in Micanopy, United States. The ground consists of dry earth with sparse vegetation. One crane stands upright, facing right, exhibiting gray plumage with a prominent red patch on its head. The second crane, positioned to the right and slightly forward, is bent over with its beak touching the ground, actively foraging. Behind the cranes, two overturned, light-colored aluminum boats rest on the bank, partially obscuring the view of the blue, rippled water beyond.
