The scene depicts a rugged, unpopulated landscape located in Aïn El Aouda, Morocco. The upper two-fifths of the vertical frame is filled with a uniform, light grey, overcast sky. Below this, a series of reddish-brown, eroded hills with undulating slopes extends across the midground and background. These hills exhibit visible furrows and are sparsely dotted with small, dark green shrubs and bushes. The foreground, occupying the lower one-fifth, consists of a dark brown, gravelly dirt path. A strip of vibrant green grass runs along the left side of this path, while a mound of dark, rocky soil is visible on the far right. Several spiky, succulent-like plants are present in the transitional zone between the dirt path and the base of the hills. No individuals, animals, vehicles, or man-made structures are present within the frame.
