A green and gold-framed informational plaque in front of a red building in Beijing, China (latitude: 39.997, longitude: 116.274). The plaque is written in both Chinese and English. It contains text about the "De He Yuan (Garden of Virtue and Harmony)". The English text reads: "De He Yuan. Garden of Virtue and Harmony, sits at the eastern foot of Longevity Hill in the Summer Palace. The garden, constructed between 1891 and 1895, contains four courtyards and covers a floor space of over 3,900 square meters. The towering Great Stage was the largest imperial stage in ancient China. Facing the Great Stage, the spacious and exquisitely-appointed Yi Le Dian, Hall of Health and Happiness, served as an exclusive box for Empress Dowager Cixi. This hall is flanked by Theatre-Box Corridors for princes and dukes and accompanied by Qing Shan Tang, Hall of Celebrating Kindness, as well as other side halls. During the late Qing years, Empress Dowager Cixi and Emperor Guangxu often watched Peking Opera performances here, giving many famous stars a superb stage to perfect their feat, and creating the very peak of Peking Opera in ancient Chinese palaces. Therefore, the Great Stage at De He Yuan served as an important venue for the development and maturity of this traditional Chinese art form and as such contains high historical and cultural values." The text is partially obscured by a reflection of a person in the glass.
